Discipline is not fun at first.
Whether that discipline is in our just everyday life,
or if that discipline is being enforced in our spiritual lives.
Something I'm learning right now is that if we have discipline in our everyday, ordinary lives,
our spiritual disciplines will be so much easier.
It's crazy…The more I'm dedicated to working out and getting stronger…
the stronger my spiritual walk becomes.
Hebrews 12:11 says,
"For the moment, all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant; but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it."
So no, discipline is not fun…."for the moment…"
But the results…the yields from the discipline…
ARE SO WORTH IT!
I used to just go to the gym and work out on my own. Lift weights.
But I wasn't seeing any change in my body…I wasn't getting stronger.
If I were to keep doing that, I would get the same results.
So, I changed it up.
I started crossfit about 3 weeks ago and I'm already seeing changes in my body and I'm getting stronger. I've started to change the way I eat as well.
And the more I see the changes in my physical self and the discipline in that area of my life,
the more I'm seeing changes and growth in my spiritual life.
Discipline in your everyday life and then there will be discipline in your spiritual life.
Don't give up.
Keep on going.
