So when I was in 8th grade I dated a girl named Kianna Brown.
Ok…so we didn't really date; I use that term very loosely.
I saw her at school, sporting events and…yup that's pretty much it.
We did talk on the phone though…
Not that texting stuff…and not that cell phone stuff.
We actually had conversations on this thing called a "land line."
Archaic, I know.
Anyways,
I "loved" Kianna.
At least that is what I thought.
The day she broke up with me in 8th grade…
I am not lying to you at all…this is 100% true…
I ran to my mom's library at school (she was the librarian).
I hid in a back room and cried like never before…
I kid you not…I cried hard…real hard…
I thought my life was coming to an end…
I mean, I was in 8th grade…I was grown!
I wish I had a video of myself that I could show you how devastated I was.
In my mind, there was no use in moving on…
But here's the reality…I did!
And so did Kianna!
We moved on.
But I talk to students all the time who are going through big, major, life changing break-ups,
and they think there is no use in moving on…
that there is no use in life as you know it…
because you "loved" him or her…
But in reality, you will move on.
You will be ok!
Trust me, from a guy who cried like a newborn the day Kianna Brown broke up with me…
You will move on. You will be ok!
I have no clue why I wrote this this morning,
but maybe someone needed it!
Enjoy life! Keep moving!
Much Love, Hold Fast!
