If you have spent any time with me in the past month,
you know I was in a car accident a little over a month ago.
Here's the kicker…
It was with a police officer…yup…a police officer.
Long story short, police report said it was my fault;
Me and everyone else I talked to, said it was his fault.
So after long phone call after long phone call and recorded statements with my insurance company, as of 4:00pm yesterday, it was my fault.
Through this whole process I have been very bitter. I was pretty angry.
I was not happy with the system, I wasn't happy with God putting me through this,
I was very bitter towards people...
I mean I couldn't pay for my truck to get fixed…it was too much for me….
So after I talked to my insurance company at 4:00pm yesterday (and they gave me the news that it was going to be my fault), I called my wife, my mom, my dad and talked with a co-worker….seemed right at the time. Seemed logical.
Never once did I get on my knees and talk to God.
Never once did I bow my head and let him know my frustration, my anger, my bitterness...
But apparently that is what those 4 individuals did…prayed and talked to God.
Because at 7:00pm that evening, I get a call from Rachael, my claim dispute worker.
She said, "Hey Cal, after going through all the evidence again, all the statements and talking with a co-worker of mine; you know what?! It's not your fault…"
She went on to tell me that she was going to inform the police department that she found their officer at fault…
Now I 100% believe it's because of prayer…
I mean at 4:00pm…It was my fault…
And through no other conversation or me trying to explain my self…
at 7:00pm…It wasn't my fault.
That's because of prayer!
It's because of those who interceded on my behalf because I was too bitter and frustrated to talk to the one person who could take care of things…God!
We almost use prayer as a afterthought sometimes.
We rarely use prayer as a powerful weapon against this world around us.
We rarely see the use in prayer…
Yesterday I saw prayer work…I saw prayer in action…I saw the results of people around me praying for my situation and God answering their prayer…
Prayer is powerful!
Prayer works!
