This morning wasn't any different.
I popped my two pieces of bread in the toaster.
Spread on some strawberry jelly.
And I picked up my plate to take it to the table.
But like an Olympic high diver, my toast had jumped off my plate, cut 3 beautiful front flips and landed flat on the kitchen floor....
JELLY SIDE DOWN! (you could just hear the shrieks of terror)
As I stood in disbelief, I only had 2 options from then on...
a. pick up the toast, throw it away and be royally pissed off...or...
b. pick up the toast, let the dog lick up the jelly on the floor and just eat the jelly toast anyways.
What choice do you think I made?
Or course I did. I picked up that toast and ate it. My dog enjoyed that little sugar rush of jelly too!
Not too long ago in my life, something like that would have ruined my day. I sometimes let little things get me so angry. Not the big things. Those didn't bother me. It was the little, seemingly insignificant, annoyances that could absolutely start my day off horribly.
I would venture to guess some of you are like that too. I can't be the only one. I had to address this in my life. I had to stop letting those little, frustrating things ruin my day.
There is so much more to life and we miss so much when we shut down and give up by 8:30 in the morning.
God has opportunities to place in front of you!
He has people he wants you to meet and impact!
He has greater things for you!
But we sometimes miss them because the little annoyances of the day frustrate us and close shop down.
Don't let those little things get you down today.
There is more day in your day and you still got breath in your lungs to live it.
Start living life and stop letting it live you.
Life is better that way!
