So we are almost to the end of January 2014.
And I was trying to think about some things that would absolutely change the rest of 2014 for us.
Simple, practical things that could help shape the rest of the year.
Here's what I came up with.
First, try something new. This could be something little like trying a food you never thought you would eat or asking the waiter to bring out what he or she would suggest. Or even as small as taking a different route to work. The point is this, we all live in our happy, little comfort zones and we rarely take a risk to step out of those comfort zones. Comfort zones are like our bubbles and they only keep us from the world and the world from us. Make it a point to try something new for the first time. The greatest enemy to your human potential is your
Secondly, stop trying to contain the disorder and chaos in your life. Stop trying to harness the clutter. The human mind needs some disorder and spontaneity. We need the unfamiliar in our lives in order for us to thrive. New paths for your life. Don't try to contain it, embrace it!
Lastly, hang out with people who have these same goals in mind. The people around us shape the person we are. If they are boring, uninspired and too careful…we will become boring, uninspired and too careful.
So what ya think?
Let's change the way we look at things. Maybe have a new outlook on the rest of 2014.
Maybe unplugging from technology and relying on a new source of life and adventure.
Maybe stopping to talk to a stranger or buying something for someone you don't even know.
Or, you can be like Walter Mitty, and borrow a skateboard from an Icelandic teenager and skate your way into an adventure.
Whatever the case is, stop reading about awesome stories and start living awesome stories.
Life is better that way!
