Just when you thought this story couldn't get any better.
A couple weeks ago I blogged about a man named Derrick Coleman who is the first ever hearing impaired offensive player in the history of the NFL.
And not only that, he will be playing this weekend for the Seattle Seahawks in the Superbowl.
I posted a video about his drive to live a life with no excuses (that blog post). His video has been viewed over 13 million times.
Well the story got better.
2 twins girls, age 9, sent him a letter to tell him how much of an inspiration he was to them.
And about how he encouraged them to not let a 'disability' hold them back.
Story got even better.
He then sent them back a hand written letter,
thanking them for the encouragement and how it was great to have "friends that he had so much in common with." (heres that blogpost)
And here's where we are today.
The girls were interviewed on Good Morning America.
They were asked what they would do if they ever got to meet Derrick Coleman…
and in the middle of their silly, run under the security guards legs story,
out walks Derrick himself during the interview to meet 2 of his biggest fans.
He got to meet them and take pictures with them…
and to top it all off, he hands them and their whole family tickets to the Superbowl this weekend…
Yes, I do believe there are still good people in this world!
Stories like this are worth some media and publicity!
Here's the video from that interview.
Enjoy!
