Ever been in a situation where life wasn't fair and things weren't going your way? How did you deal with it? So many times in life, we sit and wallow in life being unfair. We get frustrated. We get fed up. We cry. We hurt. We continue wallowing. What if we did something about it? What if we were courageous? What if our situations and circumstances didn't dictate our character and our personality? Check out this video! It's worth your time. We live in a world where finding authenticity, the real thing, is more and more of a challenge.
Unfortunately, the Church has been influenced by the world (in regards to authenticity) more than the world has been influenced by the Church. Paul (when answering this question) didn't beat around the bush... He was practical and concrete-- LOVE OTHERS SINCERELY (Romans 12: 9-13) -Hate what is evil -Honor others -Serve the Lord -Rejoice with hope -Care for fellow believers LOVE OTHERS GRACIOUSLY (Romans 12: 14-16) -Be kind in what you say -Be kind in what you do -Be kind in how you think LIVE WITH OTHERS PEACEABLY (Romans 12: 17-21) -Always do the good thing -Always trust the good God -Always pursue the Good end How can you love others sincerely, love others graciously and live with others peaceably this week? Is that your focus as you wake up each day? I believe this is the number 1 reason people hate the Church and Christianity... because this does not describe the majority of Christians or Churches. It's time we show the world REALNESS! Good morning all!
I Just wanted to embark some creativity and inspiration on you today. If you area a creative leader in your church, business or organization, this could be for you. Or if you just really like social media ideas and such. 1. Great ideas are simply just conglomerations and remixes of previous ideas. So your next "aha" moment might result from the inspiration you take in today! 2. Taking polls, having giveaways and asking questions are a great way to add excitement and encourage interaction on your Facebook and Instagram pages. 3. When mixing fonts, opposites attract. (sans-sans sarif, fat-skinny, uppercase-lowercase, elaborate-simple). 4. If you're a church leader, make your social media pages a regular part of your Sunday morning service so that people will make your pages a regular part of their schedule during the week. 5. When it comes to Facebook, don't overload (maximum 1-2 posts a day). 6. People do look at your website...does that scare you? 7. When someone takes the time to message your church/business on your social media networks, ALWAYS RESPOND. 8. Create a digital street team that you can distribute marketing content and instructions for spreading the word. 9. Just because it works well for another church/business, doesn't mean it will work well for yours. 10. Post about people. People care about people. Yesterday, I had the opportunity, privilege and struggle of sitting down with a man that is literally dying of cancer.
Being diagnosed 2 weeks ago and the effects of cancer have already seized his body. The words, actions and thoughts of someone who is dying are very calculated... with tears in his eyes...voice cracking... It truly made me think, what if I was told the words, "you only have a few months to live..." What would change in my life? After thinking a good bit on this, I came up with 3 things: 1. Be present. 2. Be engaged. 3. Be intentional. Why wait until we are staring death in the face to make changes in our life? So I challenge you-- Be present. Be engaged. Be intentional. Life is better that way! Be present. Be engaged. Be intentional. Have a great day! So you know how people pick words to inspire them and encourage them throughout the year?
Well, I've never actually picked a word... But this year I am. My word for 2015 is MOMENTS. Make moments everyday. Take adventures every week. Little. Big. Significant. Not so significant. Just take them. Make the most of everyday. Be intentional. So often I just do life...go with the flow...let things pass by.. Instead of being intentional. So maybe my word should be INTENTIONAL?! Y'all have any thoughts? I sure would love to hear from you! Comment below what you think! |
