September 11, 2001 was the most devastating act of terrorism in the history of the United States. One of our darkest days. A day that will never be forgotten. I can still remember the day. I was sitting in my first period art class at Liberty High School when the announcement was made. We ran to our next class which was Mrs. Skelton's social studies class. We sat there...seemed like forever...just watching. In disbelief. Even at my very immature, 9th grade mind, I knew this was serious. I remember the images that followed...picture after picture, video after video. The smoke. The rubble. The ashes. The faces of the people. The wreckage...
However, I also remember the next morning. I remember those pictures too...I remember the sun. I remember the silhouettes. Here is one of those pictures...

Often times the sun shines so bright after something so dark. After storms. Through the cracks and shadows of the debris and wreckage. The beams of sun! The hope.
Same in our lives. Often times after the darkest moments in our lives; Through the cracks of shame, guilt and wreckage...the sun! The sun shines bright!
Remember, tomorrow is another day. And MY GOD is still in control and present! There is HOPE!
Never forget. Never lose hope.
